Land Systems
We have extensive experience in Functional Safety. This has included the assessment of systems for Defence, Space and Aerospace customers.
We have supported a long-standing relationship with an SME electronics manufacturer to develop safety critical control systems to IEC 61508 SIL 2 requirements. This includes extensive board level Fault Tree Analysis, Common Cause Analysis, PCB layout assessments and short circuit analysis. In addition, we have implemented Functional Safety Management processes for this customer.Through the analyses carried out, a number of design changes have been implemented to both improve the integrity of the system and to achieve compliance with the IEC 61508 standard.
The control systems were also required to be CE / UKCA Marked. We identified the applicable Directives / Regulations and relevant harmonised standards to assess compliance against and prepared the required Technical File documentation.
